In 2018, Chicago Veterans, Team RWB, Wounded Warrior Project, The Mission Continues, Illinois Joining Forces and The Road Home Program held a meeting with a goal of figuring out how Veteran Service Organization (VSO) in the Chicagoland area can work together to best serve Veterans and their families. That initial conversation helped each organization work collaboratively to assist veterans and created a direct pipeline between VSOs. They decided to take it one step further and in September of 2019, they launched Warrior Week Chicago inviting many other Chicagoland VSOs to join and participate in serving our Veterans.
Every September Chicago hosts “Warrior Week Chicago,” which is a week-long series of events hosted by Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) designed to highlight programs and resources available to Veterans and their families within the Chicagoland area.
Each day, Warrior Week Chicago focuses on a specific need to help a Veteran transition to civilian life successfully such as employment, personal development, and physical health.
